Skyland Motel, located at 263 S Main St in Cornelia, Georgia, stands as a modest yet heartfelt lodging option that captures the essence of a time gone by. With a rating of 3.2, it may not boast the luxury of modern establishments, but it makes up for that with genuine care from its owners and staff, creating an atmosphere of understated warmth and respect.
Guests often appreciate the fixed nightly rate system at Skyland Motel—no hidden taxes and no inflated weekend prices—which brings a refreshing transparency often missing in today’s hospitality industry. This straightforward pricing, combined with essential amenities such as free Wi-Fi, free parking, air conditioning, and a pet-friendly policy, make it an attractive choice for budget-conscious travelers and those who seek a practical base for exploring the scenic sights and recreation opportunities around Cornelia.
The motel’s charm lies in its old-fashioned ambiance, described by some as a walk back in time. Rooms are clean but show signs of age, with details like unwashed windows and occasional wear, reflecting a property that’s lived many stories. While lacking luxuries like a pool, restaurant, or fitness center, Skyland Motel shines brightest through its compassionate and approachable staff. Numerous guests have noted the staff’s empathy and attentiveness—qualities that transform a simple stay into a meaningful experience, especially during difficult times.
However, it’s important to note some rough edges. Housekeeping could be more thorough, and small comforts like complimentary coffee are absent, which some visitors may find disappointing. Additionally, glaring exterior lighting may disturb guests seeking a peaceful evening ambiance. Despite this, the motel remains a solid option for travelers who value sincerity and affordability over opulence.
In sum, Skyland Motel is more than just a place to rest—it is a testament to genuine hospitality amid humble surroundings. For those passing through Cornelia and looking for a welcoming, straightforward stay with a human touch, Skyland Motel offers exactly that. It’s a haven where kindness and simplicity intersect, making it memorable beyond its modest facade.

Our family had a tragic happen to us while we were staying at sky land. The one's that run it were so caring and understanding. Plus we had a great house keeper that cared for my family. I just want to let them all know that I was very thankful.
There is one simple thing that sets the Skyland Motel apart from the others, the nightly rate is fixed, NO EXTRA TAXES & NO HIGHER WEEKEND RATES! The rooms are about what you'd expect from any motel, nothing fancy but the owners are very nice people and are very respectful.
Absolutely amazing staff the owners are extremely friendly! Highly recommend
It's an old motel so it's like going back in time. Clean enough for the age. Had some type film on window like they haven't been cleaned in a long time. Some type of food or something spatter on the TV screen. My main complaint, no coffee. Deal breaker for me. It wasn't a bad stay but housekeeping needs more work. The blinding flood light out front was annoying when you want to set and watch the rain. Had toilet room separate from shower so that was a plus. Other than that, it's a place to rest. Not far from downtown to enjoy the park and shops. Nice Xmas light Displays.
